I hooked up my 2007 GXP to HPtuners to log some information and found that the throttle position sensor was only reading 83% when the accelerator was to the floor. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this and if there is a way to modify the throttle body so it will go to 100%.

I've seen this crop up with LS1s from the factory and the solution is to grind away some of the metal where the throttle stop is until you can get 100% opening.

I would hate to think I'm not getting all I can.

Thanks for any input.

Well, LS1 is a different animal since it's not throttle by wire (unless I'm mistaken). Keep in mind that in our cars, there is no direct link between the gas pedal and the throttle body. The ECM reads the position of the pedal, and interprets what you want. Then it determines how to best position the throttle body to meet your desire.

Are you running it WOT all the way through the RPM range and NEVER seeing 100% on the TPS?

maybe that is what the gm tune does???? Just kidding:jester:

Yes, please post your findings after the kit install. It's a possibility that you're seeing a result of the torque management nanny controls that are removed by the tune. Doubtful, but possible.

Possibly below idle is where the remaining 17% lies and the ECM reads that 17% as 0% since the throttle itself is not depressed at that point. The peddal is up but the throttle is still open to allow for idle feedings.

You need to log the ETC % and/or other ETC pids for the correct %. For some reason GM interprets the SAE TPS PID as absolute voltage % (ie. the % of 5V on the TPS sensor, which at WOT is something like 4.39V or 88%). Don't ask me why, i just work here...

If you log the ETC or Pedal PIDs you will see they go to 100% as expected.

Beat me by thismuch.

This could be the reason.

For the LNF 2.0L Turbo, TP Sensor 2 voltage with Ignition On, Engine Off, Accelerator Pedal Fully Actuated is 4.16 Volts, which happens to be 83% of the 5 volt reference supply. Also the accelerator pedal doesn't have a full 100% range, ie TP Desired Angle doesn't read as 0% with Ignition On, Engine Off, Accelerator Pedal Not Actuated.
