Just Wondering For The People Who Got This
I Listen To Hiphop
So Of Course I Yern For That Loud Bass That Just Gets The Attention Of Other People While Im Driving And They Can Hear Me From Atleast A Good Distance Away

But For The People Who Have This System
And Listen To Hiphop
Or Just Somthing With Bass

Is It Worth Getting It From The Dealer

Or Should I Just Pass On It And Just Go To Like A Custom Shop And Get Somthing Better?

If Your Main Interest Is Sharing Your Base With Those On The 62nd Floor, Get The Baddest Aftermarket System You Can Afford. Monsoon Is For Listening, Not Broadcasting.

Keep in mind a loud stereo and a low convertible will make you an easy target for medium drink missile. I really love music and loud music especially, but I am particular to mine own music - not the music of the guy I am stuck beside in traffic.
Don't be that guy.

Hmmmmm east central indiana , here i come! lol

but na
i mean its different strokes for different folks

i mean the area im in , thats what we do......i mean of course i wouldnt go to a residentual area or in front of a police station and just play the louded hiphop music
of

"WERE NOT GONNA TAKE IT "

lol

but yeah i do crave the attention , sometimes i want people to know the mood im in from the types of songs im playing......

THus
will the moonson give me what im looking for lol

but from what i see it looks like

From a scale of 1 to 10
its about a 6.5

and plus im a music artist my self so i always have to hear my own music loud somewhere

Same here. I like loud music well enough when its something I want to hear, but even if I liked trash rap or hip hop I would want to hear ALL of it, not just the bass line. Its just a stupid plea for attention.

I love my Monsoon when I have it on. When I have new passengers it really impresses especially with the sub behind their seat. Most of the time I have it off and just listen to my CAI and Solo Dual Exhaust!!! Music never sounded this good!!!:driving:

Sorry I opened up the can-o-worms - I did not want everyone to rip on you.
I went through the loud stereo stage when I was 16, everyone likes to jam out from time to time - just remember, the guy next to you might be having a really bad day, just been cut off in traffic, hate your taste in music, be looking to start a fight or even reloading

If you ever look back at something you did in High School or Grade School and think - I really made an ass of my self - in 10-years, that will be the stereo phase of your life.

The monsoon is alright - I was pretty disappointed when I first got the car, but after playing with the EQ, you can actually make it sound nice. It is not a set of MB Quarts (or whatever is popular now), but for something that is factory installed and you don't have to pull out the interior of the car and have rattles or broken panels for the rest of the time you own it - it sounds even better.

On a side note, I am not sure how the Sat. radio folks have gotten away with promoting quality. I would really like to listen to my Sirrus, but the sound quality is so poor that I just end up turning it off. What a joke IMO. It sounds like a used up cassette tape or low quality MP3.

You are very limited with the monsoon.
Don't expect deep bass or crisp highs.

Aftermarket wise, the most you can muster is 2 12s behind the seat. Without a passenger you could probably put a box there.
Never put your top down and you can squeeze a little more in your trunk.

There is a LOT you can do to improve the sound.
But your bass options are limited because of space.

Hi Deepbluegxp,

What headunit did you install? I was considering swaping out mine, but I was not sure if there would be a big improvement. How would you rate in on a 1-10 for the improvement. I was worried that I would need to change out the speakers to really make a difference.

Personally I have a deep and pasionate hatred for people who drive with their base loud enough to vibrate my seat.

I'm just waiting for the day I can get some portable EMP device to fry all of their electronics. Maybe I'll start experimenting in my garage. I think if i came up with a device like that I could make millions.

I actually made one of those - it was a really loud, old, cheap radio in my Jeep with some Hank Williams Sr. I would pull up in traffic, no top or doors, beside someone blasting rap and crank up the Hank - I would always give my best 'thug life' nod and smile. Usually the folks around me would start laughing or cheer - it was really, really funny and most often would get the point across. I cannot count the times this happened in the summer and the reaction was usually the same. Sometimes you have to get in the trenches to win the battle.

it's not about owning anything, it's about a slight amount of respect for other people.

It's basically the "screw everyone else I will do what I want" attitude that makes people crazy. I dont care what people listen to,, I just care when I have to listen to it.

I just picked up my 08 Solstice, brand new, on Saturday. Had 10km on it. I hopped in today to go for a quick cruise down the strip and find that my right passenger door speaker is blown. The Monsoon sounds great, the bass is good when the top is up and doesn't escape too much so you don't have to worry about the people on this forum who are hating on the loudness ( probably all geezers). I was satisfied with it being a stock system as I have had other after-market systems installed in my previous vehicles. But that's soundwize. Qualitywize, having a car for four days and blowing a speaker (only travelling maybe 400km) with the system up about 75% with the top up doesn't really impress me. I would save your $300 or however much and put it into something that doesnt blow at jus above halfway. Just make sure you have a warranty dude. Good luck.

WTF? Genuine question gets insults.

I also listen to rap and hip hop, and I don't care what anyone else listens to, and I don't care if they don't like my choice of music. It's MY choice.

Having said that, I LOVE the monsoon sound, you do have to play with the EQ. I wouldn't want more sound because I think I'd damage my ears.

I play it loud on highways and rural areas, NOT in residential areas. When I pull up to a light I turn it down.

Is that respectful enough for everyone? Wow this crowd gets cranky sometimes. Why would we insult the type of music one listens to?

The man had a genuine question about the Monsoon system. Why it turns into insults is beyond me. :chill:

wow reading comprehension owns you.

no one cares what music you listen to, just be respectful. one douche said he could care less and people responded in kind.

yes, your actions pass evaluation.

I'm quite sure you guys wouldn't like the music I listen to.
I don’t like rap,, I don’t like country. I have odd tastes in music. With that said, you wont be involuntarily subjected to what I’m listening to. I have enough common sense and respect to understand that it may be offensive to some people. So I keep it low enough that others don’t have to listen to it; with the odd exception of turning it up on the interstate (not blasting out the car next to me still though)

And it wouldn't make me happy to know that I’m both forcing other people to listen to my music, or infuriating them completely by blasting it. I'm not sure if it's the selfish attitude of "I’m better than everyone else " , or the actual enjoyment of other people’s misery that fuels a good percentage of this.

I really think it's a little of both. And if you just feel compelled to play it like that because you love the music then you obviously have never thought of people around you while you do it. I guess Apathy could play a role also.

Now the real question - does anyone watch porn while they drive?
I am sure that could take this thread to a totally different level.     :willy:
Come on - somebody own up and take your flogging. I know with all the DVD install threads, somebody is guilty and they need to be flamed. BURN THEM, BURN THEM, BURN THEM!   :willy:

there yuh go ..........i don't think you care as much about the quality of the monsoon as much as will it get attention / can it annoy people home in bed.......wake small children and crack foundations
hahaha ........
my vote is it is quite adequate.........sounds pretty good .....decent quality but not suitable for a stadium concert
.......unless the point is what do other people in the nx zip code think.........will they know you are out and about....
yeahhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhh i went thru the wanna feel bass stage of life- guess we allllllll do............its quite silly and annoying once you're pass it........hahaha as in the other car......... some of us just wonder why you feel the need for attention...when its going to be negative for the most part ???........ as in "geez whatta moron" is how i usually feel when subjected to such.......yeah the focus of attention ?? a self absorbed ??? PIA...... lol... nope it ain't as impressive as you'd like to believe.......

.........for you hellllllll no you won't be satisfied......no factory set up would.....come on you know that!!!.....you'll need a major investment at the audio outlet........for the thump you desire....$$$$$$$$$$

me - i would rather not have kids pulling my dash apart..creating rattles........tho i have no room to laugh at you........lol.........i've done enuff mods too and understand ........its a phase you must have to go thru..........

i really don't care for attention........would rather not have the cops 6 blocks away watching/ looking for me

we have noise ordinances here AND.....that cuts down on the nuisance of rolling noise pollution.........the dayum car gets enuff attention all by itself.................tooooo much.....lol...............but happy thumping dood !.......:glol:
