Hey guys this is my third time making a post about me being unable to program a key fob to my car and since the last time I posted a lot has happened. Let me fill in, I tried buying another key fob brand someone suggested in my previous post and that didn't work, replaced the batteries on them, tried three different scan tools and the earliest attempt on a $6000 scan and no go. I did my four recalls I had for the car, those being pinion seal, passenger airbag sensor, new lock key cylinder and the other one related to the ignition switch. After I found about the last two recalls I mention I definitely thought that would be the issue, so I got them done and right afterwards I attempted to reprogram both different key fobs I've bought. Sadly that wasn't the issue, There's not a single DTC on my car, so Its kind of difficult to find a place to start looking. I've also gone through another 1 semester of automotive and soon to graduate so maybe now I'll have a better understanding if you guys throw any suggests since. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
Also off topic but who else was upset when they did there recalls for there new lock cylinder and didn't get another key that has the original Pontiac logo, kind of sucks.

I'm not gonna pay more then $200 for a simple key fob job when I can do it myself, I mean I have everything to do it, scan tool and key fob, go to hot functions, click immo key, and start doing the procedure, It does the minute count down and I click lock and unlock and several times and nothing ever happens so the count down finishes. I also tried going through the BCM and the Instrument cluster module. I feel like something isn't picking up a signal, I just don't know exactly what it is or what is happening when you start the procedure. I do here two beeps every time It starts. Someone correct me if I missing anything please.
Also I have a bad reputation with dealerships to be honest I've never liked going to them for anything, only when I have too. Like for example A when I did all my 4 recalls I got my car back broken.
We all know are cars from top to bottom right? So when I got my car back, first thing I noticed my turn signal wasn't working anymore, It wouldn't cancel anymore and I'm aware this is a common problem for these cars but before I took it to the dealership this problem had already occurred to me and I fixed it by replacing it. So when I got it back it wasn't working, I has to dissemble everything again to get to the turn signal and saw they broke the tabs that keep it stable so I call and then the service writer ay you broke my stuff and they obviously deny it but they say bring it back. Right after that call I noticed my fender is sticking out, so I assume they just put it on the lift wrong. I take the car back and tell them the problem that are wrong, they "check it" and here what "technician" states
replace clock spring and fender was already damage. The total is 400 and something to fix it all, I say nothing take my keys and drive straight to orileys and buy another turn signal switch and replace it 50 minutes after leaving the dealership I text the service writer and send him the receipt of the turn signal switch and tell him okay who's gonna pay me for fixing your problem that you caused and we go back and fourth for an hour and I send him a video of the turn signal working and he still denying it. Finally he admits im right and send me a check. As for the fender, they said it was already damage so there not gonna do anything. So my point is that dealerships are a bunch of scams.

If your car is a my 2006, then you may have a receiver that is a different frequency from the what has been advertised. My receiver is actually one that cross references to a 2002 2003 chevy avalanch. The only way to be certain is to remove the waterfall panel behind the seats. The receiver is located behind the driver seat. Printed on the receiver is the frequency needed. You will have to be sure the fob matches the receiver or it will never work.

With my Solstice I had the same issue, nothing we could do to get a new aftermarket key fob to program. Took it to a 4th Auto Key place and he hooked up his computer and told me that I had too many keys programmed into the car. His software would not remove old fobs, but he did recommend a place nearby that had the proper software. Took the car there and within 15 minutes I had 4 working fobs. Look into having previous fobs erased and it may solve your problem.

I agree with you about dealerships. I have a friend that owns a repair shop and he loves my Solstices so he and his mechanics take extra care of my cars. Dealerships are a scam and the only way the service writers make money (yes, most are paid a weekly draw against commissions) is to get you to buy things you most likely don't need.

Best of luck!
