Yeah my experience at car shows is the same. Showing it again Sunday at the 2017 Niagara GM power tour. Looking forward to the day, polishing is in my future for tomorrow.

I love taking Solly, my silver coupe, to car shows. Always gets attention.

Here in Northern Ohio we have a cruise in almost every night in the season which I enjoy doing .I'm not really into shows in our area which means people pay for the privilege of competing for a trophy or some other type of recognition a competition so to speak . I did those years ago when I was into bikes and for me it I get no pleasure out of it .The Solstice is a very unique car especially one that's modded so you end up with a lot of people wondering what it is especially mine because I have removed all the badging so it's pretty cool to tell them it's a Pontiac .

Summer in NE Ohio

In season there is a "show" every Tuesday night in Solon. On AuroraRd behind the movie theater. No judging or trophies, just pull into a spot and display as little or as much as you want. Some guys jack the car and put mirrors under, some do not even lift the hood. Radio station provides oldie music and a few vendors offer bad food. Mostly American with a few exotics.

Good points

I do shows for the fun of talking with all the people. They love to watch the wheels light up and the dackup lights flash...not to mention the fender lights that look like they are on fire. I hand out Punisher M&Ms to the kids and ladies and answer questions. It's a blast. Plus we usually have from one to ten cars from the club along shoeing as well.

I entered my Solstice in a local Show and Shine last weekend and convinced a couple of my friends/coworkers to bring their cars, too - a red '91 NSX with under 14K miles on it and a black '07 GXP with about 20K miles. The local chrome blue wrapped Solstice was also there. Beautiful weather, great cars and some money raised for the local children's hospital made for a good day.
